BANEPA, Sept 20: Price of poultry feed has come down by as much as Rs 2 per kg.
Feed producers lowered price of poultry fee citing drop in prices of key raw materials.
Price of a bag of broiler feed has come down by Rs 100, while a bag of layers feed now costs Rs 75 lower. The new price came into effect from Sunday.
Talking to Republica over phone, Rabin Puri, director of Hetauda-based Siddharth Pellet and Feed Pvt Ltd said that a 50 kg bag of pre-starter broiler feed now costs Rs 2,800. Similarly, price of Broiler 1 costs Rs 2,665.
Similarly, price of Broiler 2 and Broiler 3 feed has come down to Rs 2,615 and Rs 2,565 per bag, respectively.
According to Puri, Layers 1 feed is now available at Rs 2,575 per bag. Similarly, price of Layers 2 and Layers 3 feed has been reduced to Rs 2,200 and Rs 2,230, respectively.
Puri, who is also general secretary of Nepal Feed Industries Association, told Republica that the association decided to reduce the price of feed after price of key inputs fell. “The price of soybean meal and corn has come down. It is expected to go down further,” he added.
Over a dozen companies in the country are producing poultry feed. All of them have lowered their price as per the decision of the association.
