KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the dates announced for the midterm elections won’t change since the Election Commission (EC) has already initiated preparations for holding the polls. The government has announced to hold the parliamentary election in two phases for April 30 and May 10.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 400 kV Dhalkebar substation of power supply developed by Government of Nepal and Nepal Electricity Authority in Dhanusha district on Monday, Prime Minister Oli urged one and all to work for the preparations to make the polls a success since the elections would be held on the stipulated dates.

On the occasion, the PM expressed his displeasure for portraying him as an anti-Madhesi by some groups. Stating that his government has developed roads, drainage and irrigation projects in Tarai-Madhesh, the prime minister promised to irrigate the farms in Tarai by bringing the water of Koshi river.
Prime Minister Oli expressed happiness over the completion of the works of blacktopping the six-lane road from Janakpur to Dhalkebar.
Prime Minister Oli also announced to visit Janakpur within next few days to inaugurate the Janakpur-Jayanagar rail service. Nepal Electricity Authority's Spokesperson Madan Timsina stated that the Dhalkebar Substation is the largest among all the operational substations in the country.
