Political parties ask govt to provide relief to Damauli fire victims

TANAHUN, March 7: Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have asked the government to ensure relief to the families affected by a huge fire that broke out in Damauli of Tanahun district on Sunday afternoon.

TANAHUN, March 7: Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have asked the government to ensure relief to the families affected by a huge fire that broke out in Damauli of Tanahun district on Sunday afternoon. 


Issuing separate statements, leaders of the parties have expressed their sorrow over the loss of property while calling for immediate relief to the affected ones. 


In their statements, secretary of NC Tanahun, Laxmi Bhakta Khanal and under secretary of UML district committee, Pradip Raj Adhikari have expressed their gratitude to all for their support to extinguish the inferno.

As per the preliminary estimates, property worth millions of rupees has been gutted in the fire. Police said details of the loss are yet to be confirmed.  


A warehouse of Bhupal Hardware in Damauli was completely gutted to cinders and a three-storied house of Jyoti Kumar Shrestha witnessed partial damage at its rear side, according to police.   


Likewise, the fire caused damages to a part of the three-storied building of Balram Rana, two shops of Tanahunshur Mini Market and many other houses and business firms.


The fire that had started from the warehouse of Bhupal Hardware spread in a massive way in no time causing huge damages in the main market area of Damauli bazar.  


Likewise, security officials and the business community said they are collecting the details of the damages. The reason behind the fire outbreak is not confirmed so far.
