Traffic cop who kicked rickshaw puller set to face action

BIRATNAGAR, June 19: Regional Traffic Police Office, Itahari, is set to take departmental action against a traffic policeman who allegedly kicked a rickshaw puller here in Jaljala chowk of Morang district.

The traffic police office was forced to take action against the policeman after a photograph of him kicking a rickshaw puller went viral on the social media.

SP  Pawan Kumar Giri at Regional Traffic Police Office also termed it as an awful incident, adding that a clarification has been sought from the policeman.

Giri further said that an internal circular has been also issued in this regard in a bid to improve the conduct of police personnel.

He also said that police will make public facts about the incident through social media soon.

According to Dhana Prasad Siwakoti, chief at Morang Traffic Police Office, the incident took place while clearing the traffic congestion in the area as rickshaw pullers refused to remove their vehicles from the area.
