KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Police have rescued a youth who tried to self-immolate himself in civil mall on Thursday.


One Bisan Gurung, 29, sprinkled petrol on himself and tried to self-immolate himself on the ground floor of Civil Mall, Sundhara, Kathmandu.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for Kathmandu Police, Gurung was first taken to the Trauma Center at 11.15 AM. Later, he was shifted to the Kirtipur Burn Hospital at 12.20 PM. 


The reason why Gurung tried to kill himself is not revealed yet. SP Neupane said an investigation into the matter is underway.
