KATHMANDU, Oct 22: Nepal Police has requested the general public not to organize the Deusi Bhailo cultural program after 9PM.
District Police Range Office, Kathmandu issued a statement on Friday requesting all concerned to organize the Deusi Bhailo program in a dignified and decent manner till 9PM.
SP Dinesh Raj Mainali, Spokesperson at the District Police Range Office, Kathmandu, requested to inform police immediately if any unwanted activities are observed during Tihar festival.

Police have requested to immediately inform them if people gambles and burst firecrackers in the neighborhood. According to the Criminal Code, 2074 BS, offenses related to explosives (firecrackers) are punishable and such persons may face imprisonment for up to three years and a fine of up to Rs 30,000.
Police have also requested the residents of Kathmandu not to drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol and drink or smoke in public places. Similarly, they have advised people to keep cash and valuables, jewelry in lockers, and conduct financial transactions only through electronic means.
Keeping in view of safety, police have requested all concerned not to travel on the vehicle’s roof and park randomly on the right or left side of the road and violate traffic rules while driving.
Police have requested not to eat food given by strangers while traveling or open the door if a stranger knocks on it and install CCTV cameras in houses, neighborhoods and villages.
Similarly, people have been asked to inform their trusted neighbors and relatives if people leave their home for a long time. Police have requested not to post pictures and information about going to the village for Tihar and Chhath festivals on social media.
