OKHALDHUNGA, Sept 17: Police personnel have been barred from using social media apps like TikTok in Okhaldhunga district. The District Police Office, Okhaldhunga, has instructed all police personnel working in the district not to spend their time using entertainment apps like TikTok.

According to Govinda Raj Kafle, Chief of the District Police Office, the security personnel have been directed to make good use of social media applications. Speaking at a program organized by the District Police Office, Kafle instructed police personnel not to use social media applications while they are on duty. He also directed police personnel to use such applications responsibly and spread positive messages through them.

Also, as many as 45 working at the district police office have been alerted about the code of conduct and use of social media, Kafle said. “Police personnel are not allowed to get distracted by entertainment. Even so, the act of using Tik Tok during duty hours is clearly unacceptable,” Kafle said. “Police personnel should use social media in a way that conveys a positive message in a society, rather than for their own benefits,” he added.

DSP Kafle informed that police personnel were found misusing their uniform and arms for the sake of making content for the Tik Tok. “We have warned police personnels not to do such things,” he said.
