UDAYAPUR, Nov 14: The police have identified the two murderers of a 13-year-old girl Algina Khadka whose half-naked body was found in a forest near her home four days ago, a senior police official in the district said on Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Chandra Dev Rai told Republica Online that they have arrested the two young men of aged 15 and 17 for their involvement in the killing of the girl. The police have refused to reveal the name of those two arrested saying that the investigation into the incident has yet to be completed.
"The duos have admitted their crime during the interrogation," he said. Earlier, the police had arrested six youths in suspicion of their involvement in the murder.
The body of Khadka was sent to BP Koirala Health Sciences Academy, Dharan for postmortem on Tuesday. Khadka's family members and locals have claimed that Algina was raped and murdered. The police officials said that they are awaiting post mortem report. Police sent the dead body to Dharan to avoid any differences in the quest for justice.
Algina's half-naked body was found on Sunday afternoon near a jungle by one of her friends who had gone to search her. A day before, the 13 year old had gone to graze goats. At the scene of crime, witnesses said that they had found napkins stuffed into her mouth, torn kurta surwal and bruises by nails on her neck.
Immediately after the incident, the district police office deployed DSP Ranabhat and trained dogs to the crime scene.
