Police fire 50 rounds of bullet following clash with locals in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT, Nov 30: Police have fired at least 50 rounds of bullet to take the situation under control in Rautahat on Thursday evening.

RAUTAHAT, Nov 30: Police have fired at least 50 rounds of bullet to take the situation under control in Rautahat on Thursday evening.


The incident took place at the Dalit community in Garuda Municipality-5 when police were trying to stop the screening of a video of brutality filmed during Madhesh revolution in a projector to the locals.

Defying the police interference, the locals pelted stones on the police. To take the situation under control, the police fired several shells of tear gas and rubber bullets.


Six policemen are reported to be injured in which police constable Ram Niwas Yadav has sustained severe injuries to head and hand.


Meanwhile, candidate of Provincial Assembly constituency no 3 (b) for Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) Brij Kishore Yadav has informed that he and other party cadres are heading toward the incident site to calm down the situation.
