MORANG, Feb 25: Police have filed a murder case against six individuals allegedly linked with the suspicious death of Prabin Bastola, 39, of Urlabari Municipality-5, Morang district.

The murder case was filed two months after the incident.

The murder case has been filed against Rajesh Ranapaheli, Sudip Pariyar, Dipesh Poudel, Meharman Darji, Kumar Rai and Ramesh Giri from Urlabari Municipality-6, at the District Court of Morang, said officials of the District Police Office (DPO) of Morang organizing a press conference on Wednesday.

Of the six accused, police have arrested Meharman Darji and Kumar Rai while others are still at large.

“Earlier, we had filed an appeal at the government attorney’s office, demanding the filing of a murder case against all the six found involved in the case. However, the attorney’s office passed an order to release them on personal guarantee on January 15 stating that the evidence collected against them was insufficient” according to SP Santosh Khadka of DPO Morang.

“The postmortem and Viscera test reports have shown that the victim died of suffocation,” Khadka added.

Bastola was found dead in suspicious circumstances at his friend’s house on December 20, 2020.
