SURKHET, July 8: Police has discovered a cache of explosives that might have been hidden by the cadres of the then CPN(Maoist) during the insurgency under a rock in the forest in Surkhet Chinggad Municipality-7.

 “A team of police personnel who were on patrol in the area to watch possible suspicious activities of the outlawed Biplab-led party has found a cache of explosives,” said DSP Pradip Kshetri who is also Spokesperson for District Police Office.

“Since there is still a possibility of a cache of explosives being discovered, we have deployed additional police force in the area”, added DSP Karki.

The team of personnel that discovered a cache of explosives wrapped in plastic bags in the forest was led by Sub-Inspector Nara Bahadur Thapa of Police Post, Matela.
