BAJURA, May 12: The District Police Office, Bajura has confiscated and destroyed 14 thousand 660 litres of illegal home-brewed liquor in seven months in the district.

This much quantity of liquor was seized and destroyed as part of a campaign initiated by the police to control illegal production and sale of alcohol. Police stations at several places in the district confiscated and destroyed the liquor as part of the campaign, the District Police chief Uddhav Singh Bhat said.

He said the police was prompted to initiate this campaign as alcohol abuse was found to be the driving factor behind most of the family quarrels and petty crimes.
