The head office of the Sahara Chitwan Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited is located in Lionschowk, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-3. Victims have begun to file complaints against the officials including working committee officers and managers of the cooperative at the head office as well as those at the service centers in Tandi and Parsa. They are accused of defrauding depositors, prompting the police to allocate a 15-day window for any depositors who have yet to file complaints.

The police have announced they are investigating allegations of fraud against the cooperative's officers and managers. It is estimated that about Rs 400 million has been embezzled from the cooperative, although depositors claim the amount in question is around Rs 250 million. GB Rai, the owner of the cooperative, is currently absconding.

Following the reports of alleged involvement of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane with the case, leaders and workers of the RSP have come forward in Lamichhane's defense.
