Police officer found dead in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, May 24: A police officer was found dead in Kathmandu on Sunday morning. 

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Raj Kumar KC, spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Bishnu Karki of the Halchowk Police Station was found dead on his bed. The door of the room he was sleeping in was broken after he did not wake up till late in the morning. 

“When we opened the door at 9 AM, he was found dead. Some bullets and a pistol were recovered from his bed,” DSP KC added. According to preliminary investigation, ASI Karki who has a bullet injury in his head, is suspected to have committed suicide. 

His mortal remains were taken to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj for a postmortem.
