KATHMANDU, July 28: Police have apprehended a suspect involved in robbing hikers in the Kathmandu Valley. The individual was arrested during a special operation conducted by the Kathmandu District Police Range.
The operation was initiated after three unidentified individuals’ brandished sharp weapons at people traveling in a vehicle near Bindabasini Temple in Nagarjun Municipality-7, Kathmandu, and then fled the scene. Dhan Bahadur Syangtang, identified as the leader of the group responsible for the robbery, was arrested during a checkpoint search in Syuchatar.
Hiking Kathmandu launched
Police have recovered sharp weapons and stolen property from Syangtang. Recently, there have been increasing reports of similar robbery incidents targeting hiking areas in Kathmandu.
