KATHMANDU, April 13: A French national was arrested in Kathmandu on the charge of his involvement in pedophilia, a psychiatric disorder that leads to sexual attraction toward children.
Acting on tip-off, the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested 69-year-old French man Georges Igor Simansky on the charge sexually abusing two teenage boys from a hotel at Bhagawatisthan, Thamel on Friday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Uma Chaturbedi told Republica Online that the French man was arrested with two victims aged 14 and 15.

"We have started investigation against the French old man taking him into custody," he said. Chaturbedi further said that the Simasky used to tempt teenagers by offering foreign trips and better education before sexually abusing them.
According to a press statement issued by the CIB, the French national entered Nepal for the first time in 2014 on tourist visa.
The CIB has filed a case against the French national at the Kathmandu District Court in accordance with prevailing laws. It is learnt that the French national had faced legal action over paedophilia charges back in 2000 in France.
