KATHMANDU, April 6: Defense Minister Ishwar Pokhrel has been appointed as acting prime minister in the absence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who left for New Delhi on a three-day state visit on Friday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has assigned Minister Pokhrel to handle the day-to-day affairs of the state upon the recommendation of PM Oli.
PM Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal on Sunday.
