KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Senior Nepal Communist Party leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel has formally taken the responsibility of the party’s school department chief.
Former CPN-UML School Department Head Shankar Pokhrel handed over responsibility to Pokharel amid a special program at Lalitpur based Tulsilal Memorial Foundation.
After taking the oath of office, Pokharel committed to building leadership making the party stronger and well managed. “We’ll move further with a new mindset to create new leadership capable enough to deal with the changed context,” he reiterated.
He urged the whole party to have a common understanding and voices to the political direction for the sake of party unification and strengthening.
Pokharel was picked as the school department chief on August 16 by the party secretariat meeting amid the widening differences among the top leaders.
