UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, Jan 16: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government will leave no stone unturned to punish unscrupulous manpower agencies that have left many Nepali youths in a lurch in foreign lands.
Prime Minister Dahal, who is currently in the UAE to participate in the World Future Energy Summit, 2017 as special speaker, alleged that human traffickers in collusion with the immigration officials and police at Tribhuvan International Airport were involved in trafficking thousands of Nepalis, and eventually leaving them in a lurch abroad.
Speaking at an interaction organized by Nepalis living in the UAE on Sunday, Prime Minister Dahal said that his government has given top priority to addressing the concerns of Nepali workers abroad. "The government will leave no stone unturned to punish those involved in leaving Nepali nationals helpless abroad even after charging them huge amounts," the prime minister further said.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal also said that the government has already directed the department concerned to investigate the incidents of gold smuggling, money laundering and the cases involving unscrupulous manpower agencies taking Nepali nationals abroad on visit visas and abandoning them. He also said that he will put forth the problems faced by Nepali workers in the UAE during his meeting with the prince of the UAE.

Speaking at the interaction, Prime Minister Dahal urged Nepali nationals to invest the money they have earned abroad in Nepal. "The expertise and capital that you have earned here is the foundation for the development of Nepal. The government is careful enough to make sure that the sweat you have been perspiring is properly utilized," he added.
In a separate context, Prime Minister Dahal said although Nepal started hydropower development 29 years ago it failed to harness its rich hydro potential. "We have not been able to utilize the hydropower. So, we are focusing on utilizing the remittance for the development of hydropower," the prime minister said.
