PM to lead 116-member delegation to India

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will lead a delegation of at least 116 members during his visit to India.


According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation includes only two ministers -- Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat and Physical Planning and Transport Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

The government is said to bear the expenses of only 42 members of the delegation from Nepal and eight diplomatic officials at the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi. The delegation also includes Prime Minister Dahal's spouse Sita Dahal, secretaries, government officials, parliamentarians and five journalists from the state media.


According to an MoFA official, the delegation includes at least 33 businessmen and industrialist. Likewise, 33 media persons will accompany the prime minister during the India visit.  


Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled visit India from September 15 to 18. Dahal is scheduled to call on Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 16.
