KATHMANDU, March 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday has directed Chief District Officer (CDO) Uddhav Prasad Timalsina and Police Chief SP Dibesh Lohani of Saptari to be present in Kathmandu to brief him about the incident in Maleth on Monday.

Earlier, Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) had stated that the police forces were compelled to open fire in Maleth, Saptari on Monday citing to control the situation. CPN-UML had organized a mass meeting in Maleth as a part of its Mechi-Mahakali National Campaign while the UDMF cadres were trying to disrupt the UML's program.

According to a source, the PM himself directed the two officials to come to Kathmandu to brief the situation.

According to reports, the PM is displeased with the Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi over the incident and for ordering the security forces to open the fire.
