KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said efforts will be undertaken to develop Barpak, the epicenter of the massive earthquake of April 25, 2015, as an international tourist destination.
During a meeting with the delegation of the Barpak's quake-stricken at his official residence at Baluwatar, PM Dahal said, "We must rebuild the historic village of Barpak with an integrated plan, the world knows Barpak, which became an earthquake's epicenter, and I will make effort to develop it as an attractive tourist destination of the world."
The delegation led by Gorkha's lawmaker duo Krishna Dhital and Cham Bahadur Gurung and former lawmaker Amber Gurung also presented the PM with a memorandum and appealed for the district's development, PM Dahal's Personal Deputy Secretary, Manohar Timilsina, told the National News Agency (RSS).
