KATHMANDU, May 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has vowed to expand the scope of COVID-19 testing to at least two percent of the country’s population.
In a televised address to the nation on late Monday afternoon, the prime minister said that the government is doing its best to prevent and control the spread of coronavirus. “Today we are conducting COVID-19 tests at 20 labs across the country even though we had just one lab facility in the beginning,” Oli said.
The government is working to increase the number of quarantine facilities by utilizing the hotels and public infrastructures which are now not being used, he said. “Nepal’s status in battling the COVID-19 is satisfactory,” Oli said. Prime Minister Oli said that the government is sensitive toward the Nepalis in foreign countries.
