PM Oli urges Indian businesspeople for increasing joint venture in Nepal

KATHMANDU, March 18: A joint delegation from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and visiting Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Sunday called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. 

During the meeting that took place in Baluwatar, the Prime Minister stated that Nepal had made headway towards a path of prosperity. Saying this, he urged the CII for increasing joint venture in Nepal. 

The delegation comprised FNCCI President Bhawani Rana and CII President and Apollo Hospital Enterprises Limited executive vice chairperson Ms Shobana Kamineni, among other representatives from both organizations. 

Stating that progress and prosperity of the nation were the top priorities of his government, the PM, urged the FNCII and CII, the representative bodies of private sector of both countries, for support to enhance joint venture in Nepal, the FNCCI said in a press statement. 

In response, the FNCCI chief said preparations were underway for the Nepal-India Investment Conference to be jointly organized by the FNCCI and CII in Kathmandu coming April. 

The CII President congratulated the PM on behalf of the Indian private sector for his appointment on the post, stating that they were excited to be part of Nepal's campaign for economic development, underlining the need of moving ahead with a substantive action plan for the expansion of Nepal-India joint venture in Nepal with the identification of potential areas of investment.
