PM Oli to be discharged from hospital by Saturday

KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Prime Minister KP Oli, who was hospitalized on October 29, is being discharged from the hospital on Friday evening or Saturday, according to the hospital sources.PM Oli was admitted to the CCU of Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in Maharajgunj under the Institute of Medicine (IOM) on Monday after developing chest infection and fever.

Now his condition has improved significantly, said Dr Arun Sayami, team leader of health workers looking after the prime minister's treatment. "Sugar level in his blood and kidney condition is normal now," he added.

A team of doctors including cardiologist Dr Sayami, renal expert Dr Divya Singh and chest expert Dr Santa Kumar Das are involved in the prime minister's treatment.

According to the doctors, his condition is improving rapidly every day."The course of antibiotics will be completed Friday and he will be given all oral medicines from tomorrow," said Dr Sayami. "He is likely to be discharged Friday evening or Saturday from hospital," he added.

On Monday, the hospital said that Prime Minister Oli should be hospitalized at least for three days.Meanwhile, the hospital restricted the visitors from meeting the prime minister from Tuesday evening citing possibilities of infection. As a result, nobody was allowed to visit the prime minister on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the hospital sources.
