KATHMANDU, July 13: With less than six hours left to remain as the prime minister, KP Sharma Oli is preparing to address the nation at 2 PM on Tuesday.

According to Surya Thapa, press aide to PM Oli, he [Oli] will address the nation from the Singha Durbar-based Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM).

The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday issued a mamandus in the name of the Office of President to appoint Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister by 5 PM, Tuesday as per Article 76 (5).

Reinstating the House of Representatives (HoR) dissolved on May 22, the court also stated that Deuba’s claim to the post of prime minister, which he made on May 21, was justifiable as political parties cannot impose any whip on their lawmakers when it comes to Article 76 (5).
