KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s health is improving steadily.  However, he is likely to be kept in observation at the hospital, according to Prof. Dr. Uttam Shrestha, the center’s Executive Director.

The Prime Minister’s health is improving. However, we will keep him at the hospital for observation for a few days,” Shrestha said.

Doctors said that test reposts showed that the prime minister had chest infection and imbalanced blood sugar level.

Dr. Arun Sayami, one of the doctors involved in Oli’s treatment said that the chest infection was affecting respiration. Oli’s own doctor, Dibya Singh opined that the PM might have been affected by pathogens when he had put tika to the general public during Dashain festival last week.

Oli was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Maharajgunj on Monday morning at 4 AM after suffering from chest infection, according to PM’s press advisor, Kundan Aryal.

On Saturday, Oli had missed a tea party organized by his party because he didn’t feel well. Doctors had advised him to rest for a few days and avoid dust and pollution. In turn, Oli had rested. Yesterday, he had joined the meeting of cabinet of ministers at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar.
