KATHMANDU, April 16: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has invited Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairperson of CPN Maoist Center to his residence in Baluwatar for a decisive meeting on party merger.
The two chairpersons have been vocal to unite the two communist parties on Baishak 9. The day coincides with the establishment of Nepal’s communist party. While much of the differences have been sorted out since the two parties formed an election alliance, two issues now remain to be addressed; the election symbol and the decision to mention ‘people’s war’ in new statute’s preamble.
While CPN Maoist Center has been flexible about election symbol, it is pressing its communist counterpart to mention people’s war in the statute’s preamble.
