KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the executive chairperson of the party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting on Sunday to discuss the proposed Cabinet reshuffle.
The duo held discussions on the matter for about two hours. However, they failed to forge consensus on the Cabinet reshuffle.
Oli was in a mood to reshuffle his Cabinet today itself. However, the agenda has been postponed as Oli is yet to forge consensus with Dahal regarding the same, according to sources.
PM rules out immediate cabinet reshuffle
Meanwhile, an emergency Cabinet meeting that took place this afternoon did not dwell on the proposed Cabinet reshuffle, according to a minister.
“PM Oli called the meeting today although there was no specific agenda,” the minister added.
It was said that the meeting was called to brief the ministers on Oli’s decision to reshuffle the Cabinet.
Bhandari appointed NARC executive director
Meanwhile, the government has appointed Dr Deepak Bhandari as the executive director of Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC).
The Cabinet meeting took a decision to this effect earlier this afternoon.
Likewise, the meeting has entrusted Nepal’s Ambassador to Israel, Anjan Shakya, with the responsibility of signing a deal with the Israeli government on sharing experiences on agricultural technologies.
