PM makes changes in portfolios<br/>Consults Madhes-based parties

KATHMANDU, June 16: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has made some changes in the ministerial portfolio for some ministers.



He has decided to exchange the portfolios of Rabindra Shrestha of CPN-UML and Rakam Chemjong. Now Shrestha is the minister for General Administration and Chemjong as minister for Peace and Reconstruction. [break]



Nepal also decided to appoint Dambar Shrestha of CPN (ML) as Minister for Land Reform while Man Bahadur Shahi of the same party will be Minister of State in the ministry.



Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nepal has continued consultations with Madhes-based political parties over cabinet expansion. He met Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, who is leading a faction of Madeshi People´s Rights Froum, and leader of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party separately earlier on Tuesday.



Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a joint meeting with the Madhes-based political parties -- MPRF, TMDP and SP -- later in the evening. A joint meeting of the three Madhes-based political parties is underway to finalize the parties´ common voice to put in the meeting with the prime minister.
