KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The top three leaders of the ruling parties held a meeting at the official residence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday.
The discussion was held among Prime Minister and Nepali Congress(NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal amid their different positions on the MCC Compact Agreement.
The ruling coalition has been embroiled in controversy over whether the US funded project Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) should be passed by parliament. While Prime Minister Deuba is in favor of ratifying the agreement, Chairman Dahal and Nepal are of the view that the agreement should not be passed from the parliament without making some amendments.
