KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is preparing to discuss the decisions regarding information classification with the concerned parties today.

He gave this information by writing a status on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

“Serious attention of the Government of Nepal has been drawn to the concerns expressed by various agencies regarding the decision made by the Information Classification Committee,” Prime Minister Dahal's Facebook page post reads, adding, “On Monday, the necessary decision will be taken to solve the problem after discussion with the concerned parties.”

Prime Minister Dahal said that the Article 4 of the Right to Information Act 2064/074 has provisions related to the protection of information. Within it, there is a provision regarding the classification of information. According to the same arrangement, a committee has been arranged under the chairmanship of the chief secretary of the Government of Nepal to classify the information.

The same committee prepares the information to be kept confidential and classifies the ordinary information and extraordinary information.
