TEHRATHUM, Jan 3: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has announced Rs 10 million for the rehabilitation of the Atharai fire victims on Tuesday.
Following the inspection visit of the fire-ravaged Atharai Bazaar today, which is around six hours walk from the district headquarters Myanglung, Prime Minister Dahal pledged this cash relief for the rehabilitation of the Atharai fire victims.

As many as 29 houses were reduced to ashes while three others sustained partial damages after the massive fire that broke out in the historical hill town on December 16, rendering 176 people from 73 houses homeless.
Speaking on the occasion, Dahal assured that the government will give a high priority to the reconstruction of the fire-hit hill town for this own historical importance.
For the reconstruction of the Atharai Bazaar, Prime Minister said that the government will deposit the cash in the bank account under Atharai Bazaar Reconstruciton and Rehabilitation Fund maintained in Nepal Bank Ltd. in district headquarters Myanglung.
The cash relief will be distributed after the decision of the District National Disaster Rescue Committee.
The inspection visit led by PM Dahal included NC leader Krishna Prasad Situala, Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Tanka Mani Sharma, among others.
According to Chief District Officer Menuka Neupane the fire destroyed property worth Rs 148 million.
The government has constructed huts and proved Rs 10, 000 as cash relief to each of the fire victims while various organizations have doled out relief materials to them.
