Senior party leader and former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and party SC member KP Sharma Oli, however, were not present in the meeting.
The parliament has been holding discussion on the policies and programs for the new fiscal year since last Tuesday. The deliberation is going to end later today, with PM Khanal scheduled to answer queries to be raised by lawmakers.
The annual policies and programs have come under fire from parties including the largest coalition partner UCPN (Maoist) and the major opposition Nepali Congress.
The parties have slammed the government policy paper, saying that it lacks focus on more pressing issues including the ongoing peace and constitution writing processes and has failed to set priorities.
