PM celebrates his birthday among injured ex Maoist combatants

 KATHMANDU, Dec 11: A crowd of leaders and cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) assembled at Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar early in the morning today for a purpose. 

The crowd gathered there to extend wishes to PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal on his birthday. "I wish you (PM Dahal) a happy birthday. You (PM Dahal) should give the country a way out by implementing the constitution. We are with you," said Sarjan BK of Kalikot, who, part of the crowd, was injured during the decade-long Maoist insurgency and his below waist part is immovable. 

In response, PM Dahal asked about his wellbeing. "Sarjan Comrade, how are you?" asked Dahal to BK. 

"Those injured in the course of the people's war are yet to receive relief. You (PM Dahal) should take initiatives in this regard. "My special request to you is you should involve in giving the country a way out of the political crisis," BK told PM Dahal. 

BK was injured in 2062 B.S. during a battle against then state Army in Butawal. 

PM Dahal became visibly emotional when he heard the predicaments facing ex Maoist combatants, shared by the attending injured former Maoist combatants. 

The PM also thanked those wishing him a happy birthday and said those killed, injured and disappeared during the rebellion are a source of inspiration for him. "Party's property is the families of those killed, injured and disappeared during the conflict. You are fighter who would support party in hours of sorrow," Dahal told the attending team. 

Born in Dhikurpokhari-2 in Kaski on December 11, 1954, PM Dahal joined mainstream politics 10 years ago after waging a decade's long people's war. He has become PM of the country twice first in 2008 and his second and current term as PM. 

A team of Maoist leaders and cadres mostly those injured during the Maoist conflict led by BK had reached PM's official residence to extend greetings to PM Dahal on his birthday. The team also requested PM Dahal to provide appropriate relief to the families of those killed, injured and disappeared during the insurgency. 

"Today PM started his day by meeting those injured during the insurgency," said PM's press advisor Gobinda Acharya. 

Meanwhile, CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) Chairman Mohan Baidya, also known as political guru of PM Dahal also reached Baluwatar today to extend wishes to PM Dahal on his birthday. 

During the event, Baidya requested PM Dahal to relief the country of the current political problems. RSS
