KATHMANDU, June 13: A meeting of the top leaders of the major political parties is underway at Singha Durbar.
Emerging out from the meeting, Nepali Congress leader Ram CHandra Poudel said that the meeting is focused on to convince Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) in the upcoming second phase of local level elections instead of postponing the elections.
CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar has also left the meeting.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba called the meeting of the top leaders to discuss about the recent political situation after the RJPN decided to boycott and disrupt the second phase of the local level election.
As RJPN has been demanding the constitution amendment prior to the election process, PM Deuba called up leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center) and Madhesi People's Right Forum- Democratic (MPRF-D) for the meeting.
