Players arrive for Triathlon Asian Cup and South Asian Championship

POKHARA, April 26: The participating players of Triathlon’s Asian Cup and South Asian Championship arrived on Thursday to take part in the competition which will start in Pokhara on Saturday. 

“This event was fixed a year ago, so we have already made required preparations for that,’’ Kaski Triathlon Association Secretary Prakash Baral said. 

The association also informed that the International Triathlon Union has given $1,000 for the expenses of the tournament. 

The triathlon tournament will feature 750 meters swimming, 20 kms cycling and five kms race. The swimming will be held in Fewa Lake, while the race will be held through the routes from Hima Griha-Shahid Chowk, Mustang Chowk, Birauta Chowk, Damside, National Bank Chowk to Hima Griha again.

The participants should make four rounds in the five-km race during cycling, informed the organizers. 
A total of 27 players (20 men and seven women) from nine countries will take part in the Asian Cup and South Asian Championship. The participants are from Nepal, Lithuania, Poland, Japan, Korea, Australia, Kazakhstan, India, and Bangladesh. 

Japan will have the most eight players in the tournament, while five will feature from Nepal. Likewise, India will have three, two from Bangladesh and Korea each.
