KATHMANDU, Sept 2: President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena visited SAARC Secretariat, Lainchaur and planted at the Secretariat premises.
Mr. Amjad Hussain B. Sial, Secretary General of the SAARC, explained about the roles of SAARC Secretariat to the President Sirisena.
Likewise, President Sirisena praised the roles of SAARC Secretariat played for the upliftment of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
President Sirisena had arrived in Kathmandu to attend the fourth Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) summit on August 29. On Saturday, Sirisena visited the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Lumbini.
