Planning your way to the top

Planning your way to the top

Being a management student, I plan my future endeavors on my own. To be honest, in the management field, planning is a prerequisite. However, Napoleon Hill, author of ‘Think and Grow Rich’ has stated, “Gratitude is a beautiful word. It is beautiful because it describes a state of mind that is deeply spiritual in nature. It enhances one’s personality with magnetic charm, and it is the master key that opens the door to the magic powers and the beauty of infinite intelligence.”

When I read the lines, I sense that a deeper sense of spirituality is necessary to contradict one’s life from that of a hog and dog. Of course, there is nothing impossible. But in the meantime, research shows that most people stop at 40 percent of their actual capacity. This makes sense when things get difficult; your mind goes into survival mode instead of the degree of concentration at your task.

First and foremost, you should push your limit to reach to the top. Write down what you’re after, set a timeline, plan ahead, and work hard.  By writing down all these, you can start training your brain to put them into action long before you need to.

Abraham Lincoln said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four hours sharpening the axe.” I think this is the most beautiful, useful, and powerful quote when it comes to planning for any action.

It is not surprising to say that people often spend time engaging in useless activities.  That’s the reason why they cannot envision their goals in the right direction. If you don’t know the past, you cannot understand the present and plan properly for the future either. After all, the more specific your plan is, the more successful you will be.

Visualization and goal-setting avoid failure to a great degree. The better you will be at instituting it, more efficient it is to reach your goal.
