KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Photojournalist Club Nepal has condemned the arrest of photojournalist Barsha Shah of Deshsanchar.com while reporting outside Sheetal Niwas on Thursday afternoon. The umbrella organization of the photojournalists has demanded the immediate release of Shah without any condition.
In a statement issued by spokesperson Deepesh Shrestha, the club has criticized the government and police for arresting Shah citing that press freedom and freedom of expression are the pillars of the democracy and termed the arrest as the attack on press freedom and democracy.
The club has demanded the government to stop such activities in the future and asked for the apology from the administration.
