KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Photojournalist Club, Nepal has condemned physical assaults on two journalists on duty during a rally taken out by taxi drivers in the capital Tuesday.


Saroj Baiju of the Annapurna Post and Chhiring Lama of the Commander Post were reported manhandled by the taxi drivers, coming to onto the street, putting forth various demands.

In a press statement, the Club said that taxi drivers who were demonstrating carrying iron rods turned abusive toward journalists, accusing them of taking their photographs. 

Terming such attacks on journalists on duty a 'crime', the Club has demanded the authority concerned bring the accused to book.


The protesters also smashed their cameras, it is learnt. RSS
