KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has strated at Singha Durbar. The meeting is likely to decide fate of acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee as the new chief justice of the country.

According to the parliamentary regulations, any recommendation can be rejected by two-thirds (10 members) of the committee. Previously, the meeting of the PHSC was postponed twice. The meeting was then called for Monday.

However, the meeting failed to make any decisions as the main opposition Nepali Congress asked for more times for further discussion.

Various individuals had registered complaints against Joshi questioning his performance, fairness and integrity during his career in the judicial service.
