PHOTOS: Paddy planting season begins !

BHAKTAPUR, June 1: Paddy plantation has begun in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley as the pre-monsoon gets active.  

Recent spells of rainfall with the onset of cyclones in India in a gap of a week has brought in weather change in and around the nation.

Farmers of Changunarayan in Bhaktapur district on Monday planted the saplings of paddy as they enjoyed the availability of water for irrigation.

Splashing muddy water and singing songs of Ropain [Plantation] farmers marked the start of the planting season this year. The months from May to July are considered favorable months for paddy cultivation in Nepal.
