PHOTOS: Nepal commemorates 209th birth anniversary of Adhikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya

KATHMANDU, July 13: Adhikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya is being commemorated on his 209th birth anniversary today at Nepal Academy, Kamladi.

The day is being marked by organizing various programs in schools, colleges and organizations working in language, literature and culture across the country.

Acharya who is considered the first poet of the Nepali language, is highly honored for translating the epic, Valmiki’s Ramayan, in the local dialect about 150 years ago.
