KATHMANDU: Inoculation drive targeting sexagenarians is continuing across Kathmandu Valley.

COVID-19 vaccines are being transported to designated vaccination centers from a cold store located in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. They are loaded into an ice box marked with ward numbers.

A total of 24 officials have been working round-the-clock basis to ensure a smooth flow of vaccines to the designated vaccination centers. Vehicles are kept on standby to transfer the vaccines to vaccination centers in case any of these vaccination centers run short of the required quantity of vaccines.

Officials allocate vaccines on the basis of the number of recipients in certain wards. “We have ensured smooth flow of vaccines to the vaccination centers around Kathmandu. We have been supplying vaccines to all 32 wards as well as some parts of Bhaktapur for which we have 8 vehicles kept on standby mode,” an official said.
