KATHMANDU, Mar 21: Locals have erected Chir (a ceremonial pole with colorful crown) in Basantapur, Kathmandu to mark the beginning of the Fagu Purnima, popularly known as Holi festival.
People throw vermilion powder in the air after hoisting the colorful Chir on Sunday.
The festival of color, Holi formally begins with the erection of Chir. Holi is celebrated by playing with colors, water and music.
