Photojournalist Monika Malla secures second position in UN Women photography contest

KATHMANDU, March 27: Photojournalist Monika Malla has been awarded in the photo competition organized by UN Women on climate change and its impact on women. She was able to secure the second position in the competition.

The final results of the competition, organized on the occasion of International Women's Day, were made public on Friday. A total of 137 women journalist’s photographs were selected in the competition. There was also an exhibition of selected pictures.


According to UN Women, the first prize carried a purse of Rs 50,000, while the second and third prize carried a purse of Rs 30,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. Photojournalist Malla previously served with Nepal Republic Media Limited.
