KATHMANDU, September 14: In view of the upcoming Dashain festival, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started issuing fresh banknotes from today.
Common people can exchange new notes worth Rs 18,500 per person. They will get one bundle of new notes ranging from five rupees to one hundred rupees. Banks and financial institutions will get new notes worth Rs 20 to 50 million from NRB.
NRB has prepared to send new notes worth Rs 10-13 billion to the market only for Dashain. Last year, during Dashain, new notes worth seven billion rupees were released in the market.
