KATHMANDU, Oct 2: A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC), a joint committee of both houses of the Federal Parliament, is underway at Singha Durbar.
The meeting is expected to hold a hearing on Prakash Man Singh Raut, who has been recommended for the position of chief justice at the Supreme Court. Raut has also been summoned to the meeting for discussion.

The Constitutional Council on September 16 recommended Raut for Chief Justice, while the Cabinet meeting on August 15 had recommended Sewa Lamsal as the envoy to Belgium, and the Cabinet meeting on September 10 had recommended Chitra Lekha Yadav as the envoy to Australia.
