BUTWAL, May 10: It has been found that certain pharmacies in Butwal are selling narcotic drugs without a doctor’s prescription.


The police arrested the owner of a medicine shop after it was found that various medicines that require a doctor’s prescription were mixed and sold as narcotic drugs at Baidwar Pharmacy on Kalika Path in Kalikanagar, Butwal.

Kamal Bahadur BK, the pharmacy's owner, was arrested by the police on Thursday. He was arrested for illegally selling and distributing various medications from the pharmacy without a doctor's prescription. Additionally, he was found to be marketing these medicines to youths as drugs.


The local police office in Butwal arrested the pharmacy owner and confiscated medicines from the shop that required a doctor's prescription for sale.


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bijay Raj Pandit, chief of the Area Police Office, Butwal, stated that they conducted a raid on the medical center based on information suggesting that various medicines were being mixed and sold as narcotic drugs from the pharmacy.


DSP Pandit revealed that it was discovered that shopkeepers were mixing certain medicines and selling them as narcotic drugs to youths without a doctor's recommendation. The police have taken the pharmacy owner and some drug users into custody and are proceeding with the investigation.
